Established by the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and funded by the Australian Centre for Disease Control, ASPREN (the Australian Sentinel Practices REsearch Network) is a national network of GPs and nurse practitioners who help monitor influenza and other respiratory illnesses across Australia. Through real-time data collected in general practice, ASPREN provides valuable insights into disease activity, circulation of respiratory viruses, vaccine effectiveness, and emerging public health threats — supporting timely responses to help protect the health of Australians.
